Hours: Permanent, Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced nurse with experience within the Theatres department to work as a Clinical Practice Facilitator at The London Bridge Hospital and Corporate.

The Clinical Practice Facilitator is responsible for developing ODP and nursing practice and supporting the professional development of ODP and nursing staff across the facility. This includes the inpatient and outpatients departments on all campuses. This will include working closely with the Theatres teams  to ensure a multi faceted approach to education and training and developing individual learning plans with staff, acting as a mentor and role model to ODP and nursing staff using evidenced based best practices to ensure highest level of nursing standards are upheld. 

What you will do:

  • Assist the Theatre Managers in the development and review of training needs analysis and ensuring ODP and Nursing staff are competent and fit for practice as per NMC standards.

  • Promote an environment that encourages learning and continual professional development as part of enhancing clinical nursing skills. The post holder will be expected to be highly visible, working alongside colleagues to deliver best practice.

  • Involved in developing education and training programmes in line with service needs, assist in the delivery of education programmes and acting as a role model/supporting nurses in the clinical environment. 

  • Analyse, support and implement evidence based practice 

  • Implement clinical policy and review compliance 

  • Recognise and support the development of staff where there are issues regarding their capability 

  • Participate in the development of clinical supervision with all ODP and nursing staff 

  • Working alongside staff to ensure they are safe in their practice. To implement and monitor improvement plans following incidents 

  • Provide support for individual development, for both teaching and clinical practice 

  • To maintain and monitor a register of Safe Blood Transfusion competencies in line with legal requirements 

  • To maintain a register of mentors in line with NMC and HCPC guidelines 

  • Interpret national guidelines and safety alerts.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education or other clinical related field.

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Administrator

  • HCPC Registration or NMC Registration / Pin

  • 3+ years of experience in clinical education

  • 3+ years’ experience in nursing specialty in an acute care hospital.

  • Valid BLS certificate (Essential)

  • CIPD or Learning Development qualifications (Essential)

  • Ability to demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to delivering exceptional care to create an unmatched value proposition for our clinicians and patients.

  • Ability to make timely, informed decisions that are in the best interest of our patients, employees, providers, community and HCA.
