Senior Patient Access Officer

Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday at an overtime pay rate).
Shifts will vary between 6AM - 6PM. (Candidates must be flexible and available for these shifts)

We’re looking for a Senior Patient Access Officer to join our team based in London Bridge Hospital. As a Senior Patient Access Officer, you will assist the Patient Access Leader in the management and progressive development of a high quality and customer responsive services offered by the Patient Access Department.
As a Senior Patient Access Officer, you will be responsible for providing hands on supervision for the day-to-day operational aspects of all functions within the team, to effectively communicate with appropriate instruction and guidance to colleagues at all times to ensure that the service delivered is always of an exemplary standard.

What you’ll do:
Formally pre-register or register all patients and guarantee 100% accuracy when requesting and transferring information to HCA databases.
Ensure teams are equipped to carry out all tasks and ensure adequate supplies are maintained.
Ensure all relevant patient documents are signed and scanned to the patients accounts, including patient registration forms and self-pay agreements.
Ensure all patients meet the HCA criteria to enable successful and full financial settlement relating to all patient visits.
Reconcile all financial transactions on a daily basis.
Assist in the management of the Patient Access shared mailbox.
Seek assistance from Patient Access Manager (PAM)/Patient Access Leaders (PAL) with any complex queries.
Support PAL with rota management.
Deputise for the PAL and take on supervisory tasks within their team as required.
Assist Patient Access Officers with more complex tasks.
Maintain accuracy and integrity of patient data, respecting the confidentiality of all patient information, remaining compliant with GDPR protocols.
What you’ll bring:
Previous experience in medical/patient administration or similar role is essential.
IT Literate
Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
Knowledge of revenue cycle management within a healthcare setting is desirable.
