We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and dynamic individual to take on the role of Head of Hospital Operations at the Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. Joining our executive team, you will provide senior leadership and strategic growth to enhance financial performance.
The Harborne Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK, is a state-of-the-art, £100 million private hospital designed to provide exceptional care. This purpose-built, 50-bed facility is located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus and offers cutting-edge clinical infrastructure, advanced equipment, and world-class facilities. With a team of highly skilled experts, the hospital delivers comprehensive clinical pathways across a diverse range of specialties and sub-specialties, including cardiology, cancer care, and complex surgery, ensuring excellence at every level of complexity.
As the Head of Hospital Operations you will lead and inspire a team to deliver exceptional operational performance, high colleague engagement, and ongoing service improvements.
In this role, you will act as a key link between hospital-based teams, NHS partners, and corporate stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration. You’ll oversee the overall operations of business functions, ensuring resources are used efficiently, services are delivered seamlessly, and consultant satisfaction remains a top priority.
With a focus on meeting and exceeding business objectives, you will work towards achieving financial and operational KPIs. You’ll also collaborate closely with the HCA UK Finance team to ensure timely financial audits and reconciliations related to practice and physician compensation.
This role involves managing a variety of projects across the practice portfolio, including improving patient flow, enhancing consultant and patient satisfaction, driving service utilisation, optimising billing and collections, and delivering training for physicians and staff.

What you’ll bring:
- Prior management experience within a healthcare environment
- Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, specifically medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement, patient flow and facilities management
- Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement and problem-solving techniques in the decision-making process
- Knowledge of fiscal management and leadership management techniques.
