Are you an established Acute Medical Nurse with a passion for transitioning into Cancer Nursing? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

We are also offering a fully funded Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) course to support your professional development in oncology care.

We’re seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse to join our cancer nursing team at The Wellington Hospital. In this role, you will collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their cancer journey and address their medical needs. Our hospital is accredited with the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark Award, and we pride ourselves on providing bespoke care to patients from all walks of life.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in assessing the individual care needs of patients and developing appropriate care plans to implement and evaluate.
  • Monitor patient care and interventions, ensuring they are appropriately carried out.
  • Recognize the early signs of deterioration in a patient’s condition (including neutropenic patients) and refer to the senior nurse and medical team as needed.
  • Attend IV/chemotherapy drug administration training and complete the associated competence workbook.
  • Report and document adverse incidents accurately.
  • Take appropriate action to isolate patients when required.
  • Provide a holistic approach to the care of patients requiring infection control precautions.

What you’ll bring:

  • Registered General Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
  • Experience in an NHS or private ward setting.
  • Oncology/cancer care experience is essential.
  • Passionate about patient care with a respectful, responsible, and committed attitude.
