Job Title: Business Continuity Manager
Location: London / Hybrid / Travel to HCA Sites
Full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary: Up to £60k dependant on skills and experience
We’re looking for a Business Continuity Manager to join our Emergency Operations Team. Reporting to the Director of Emergency Operations and Business Continuity. You will ensure our organisation, across multiple sites, is able to mitigate, prepare for, respond to and recover from Business Continuity incidents in a multi hazard healthcare environment.
You will also be part of the wider Emergency Operations team that includes Emergency Planning, Health and Safety and Physical Security professionals.
As a Business Continuity Manager, you will:
- Facilitate planning, training and incident business continuity response co-ordination across the group.
- Manage the development and maintenance of business continuity policies, plans and action cards to facilitate resilience across the group.
- Manage the assessment and development of downtime procedures for critical clinical and business processes across the group.
- Develop and facilitate training / exercising opportunities for staff to help develop high levels of shared awareness ensuring business continuity policies and plans are activated appropriately.
- Assist with Business Impact Assessments (BIA’s) across the group.
- Work closely with the Emergency Planning Manager to mitigate risk and build organisational resilience.
- Co-ordinate internal response support arrangements during incident response and provide tactical advice and support to leadership on business continuity issues.
- Conduct constructive debriefs for incidents and exercises, disseminate and monitor lessons identified and make recommendations for future best practice.
- Participate in the relevant on-call rota, where required.
- Develop presentations and reports and present these in relevant governance meetings and to senior leadership across the group.
- Build relationships with external and internal stakeholders and attend relevant meetings.
- Build and maintain a working relationship with HCA US Emergency Operations, sharing work and experience and best practice.

What you’ll bring:
- Knowledge and experience of Business Continuity in a healthcare environment.
- A relevant academic qualification in Business Continuity (preferably a BCI qualification) and a number of years’ experience.
- An ability to operate in a large multi- facility environment.
- An ability to function at a Business Continuity operational and strategic level, as required.
- Expert level understanding of Business Continuity and an ability to train and help others develop a comprehensive Business Continuity program.
- Knowledge of ISO 22301 and any other Business Continuity guidance and standards.
- Experience of Business Continuity plan and process development and implementation.
- Experience of incident response co-ordination.
- An ability to remain calm under pressure.
