We’re looking for a Clinical Rotational Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at the London Bridge Hospital, currently rated "Outstanding” by the CQC.

 

London Bridge Hospital is one of the UK’s largest private healthcare hospitals specialising in complex and acute care. Spread over three main buildings and five outpatient centres, it is home to a number of specialist units and teams across a wide range of disciplines including orthopaedic, spinal, digestive diseases, liver, hepatobiliary, renal, cardiothoracic, critical care, cancer and transplant services.

As a key member of the Pharmacy team, you will contribute to the development and provision of a comprehensive, high quality, safe and efficient patient-centred pharmacy service, which consistently meet the needs of all service users within the London Bridge Hospital Campus. The role will involve rotating between all the clinical specialties and campus locations including Emblem House, HCA UK at The Shard and Private care at Guy’s. Your remit will include completing medicines reconciliation, assessing pharmaceutical needs, assessing and facilitating the use of patient’s own drugs, ensuring appropriate medicines supply, liaising with members of the multidisciplinary team. We in turn will support you in your career development and professional progression within the pharmacy team and across HCA UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a comprehensive and effective patient-centred clinical pharmacy service to designated wards & care locations. You will have the opportunity to work in various clinical disciplines including orthopaedic & spinal surgery, colorectal surgery, gastroenterology, hepatic, cardiology, oncology/haematology and critical care.

  • Assist in developing elements of the clinical pharmacy service to improve the patient experience.

  • Contribute proactively to ensure optimal medicines usage by patients and healthcare professionals.

  • Perform effective Medicines Optimisation on admission and discharge (including facilitating timely discharges)

  • Validate prescriptions to ensure appropriateness in accordance with local procedure and good practice, ensuring provision of a high standard of customer care to all users of the dispensary.

What you’ll bring:

  • Pharmacist degree (B.Sc./ M.Sc.) recognised in U.K

  • Registered Pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience

  • Evidence of continuing professional development

  • Possesses or working towards additional post graduate clinical qualifications (Desirable)
