The Wellington Hospital, one of the leading cardiovascular centres in the UK, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Nurse to join our Cath Lab team. As a specialist nurse in our Cath Lab, you will be integral in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing both diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
As a Cath Lab Nurse, you will assist in the planning, preparation, and coordination of various diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will provide patient care and support throughout these procedures by monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and assisting with necessary interventions as required.
Our facility includes 2 Cath Labs where we perform a wide range of both invasive and non-invasive procedures, along with some interventional radiology procedures. As part of the team, you will contribute to a 24-hour emergency service, and participation in the on-call rota is required.
Key Areas of Involvement Include:
- Cardiac Interventional Procedures: Adult cardiac catheterisation, Pressure wire studies, IVUS, OCT, PTCA, stent procedures, Lithotripsy, and Rotablation.
- Structural Heart Procedures: TAVI, PFO and ASD closures, LAA closure.
- Electrophysiology Studies: Including 3D Mapping systems, RF and Cryo ablations.
- Device Implants: Pacemakers, Biventricular Defibrillators, leadless pacemakers, Reveal implants.
- Additional Procedures: Transoesophageal, Stress Echos.
- Rotation through Interventional Radiology: PICC line insertion, Permcath insertion, and more.

What you’ll bring:
- Registered General Nurse with full NMC registration.
- Previous experience in Cath Lab or Interventional Cardiology is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with good time management skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
