Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: This role is 100% site based, at sites within London, while also occasionally providing maintenance for our office premises and GP's across the UK.

Full Time: 40 hrs Per Week 

Work Pattern: Start time 7.30am (Mon- to Fri) Occasional weekends cover may be required

Position Summary:

The main purpose of the role is to help provide a safe and well-maintained environment at all Primary Care locations. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for completing both planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks. This includes carrying out skilled general maintenance work in all aspects of the facilities, both internal and external as well as general DIY and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting and decorating. This will also include regular checks and assessments of consulting rooms, other clinical and public areas and performing jobs as and when they are required. This role will involve some lone working.

What you’ll do:

  • To work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives, carried out in accordance with timeframes.
  • To complete the above in adherence to Health & Safety policies and guidelines
  • To respond to reactive maintenance and emergency maintenance requests.
  • To prioritise work requests and carry them out efficiently
  • To complete the above in adherence to Health & Safety policies and guidelines
  • To ensure all works are documented accurately
  • To comply with Health & Safety procedures and requirements and report emergencies, repairs and health & safety problems to the Lead Engineer
  • To carry out minor repairs and maintenance such as general carpentry, plumbing, painting, unblocking sinks, changing locks, changing light bulbs, replacing tap washers, etc.
  • To complete the above in adherence to Health & Safety policies and guidelines
  • To assist in projects as required.

What you’ll bring:

  • NVQ Level 2 or above/BTEC 2 or above/City & Guilds
  • Health & Safety, COSHH
  • Health & Safety, COSHH, Lifting and Handling
  • Must be GCSE level or equivalent, with passes in English and Maths
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft office applications with the ability to master all relevant internal systems.
  • The role will require use an electronic system for logging/ reporting/ signing –off tasks via tablet
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience - ideally in healthcare environment
