Staff Nurse - Outpatients

London: 40 Bank Street, Canary Wharf.

Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: 7.5 hour shifts between 08:00 and 20:00 plus occasional Saturdays

Permanent

Salary: competitive depending on experience

We’re looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Outpatient team at the London Bridge Hospital campus currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC

This position is based at our new canary wharf site but flexibility is required for you to work across any of our satellite centres if needed (Old Broad street, Shard, London Bridge)

Our Canary Facility is an £18million, 20,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art outpatients and diagnostics centre in the heart of Canary Wharf.

This expansion meets the growing demand for private healthcare in Canary Wharf. The centre brings a new and unparalleled level of healthcare quality, capability and accessibility to the area.

The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses an outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard; the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site; Private Care at Guys, which is on the top four floors of Guys Hospital Cancer Centre; and outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City and Canary Wharf.

As a Staff Nurse in Outpatients at our Canary Wharf centre, you will deliver world class customer service to our patients, visitors and Consultants. You will need to help coordinate the department, assist in clinics and ensure the highest quality of clinical practice at all times.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Require you to be responsible for your OPD area, staff and patients during the shift
  • Deputise for Senior staff in their absence
  • The allocation of staff with the appropriate skill mix
  • Recording and investigation of Datix
  • Assist in organisation of clinics to ensure smooth, efficient operations
  • Carry out observations, investigations and treatments as require
  • To support patients, in conjunction with senior colleagues, in distressing situations, where required.
  • To ensure all equipment is in good, safe working order and to participate in Clinical Audit, evaluation of stock levels and ordering supplies.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement within the Outpatient department

What you’ll bring:    

  • RGN with valid NMC pin
  • Experience in Outpatients
  • Ability to manage the clinical area
  • Flexibility to respond to the needs of the department demonstrating enthusiasm and commitment
  • Proficient in Wound Care Management and Venepuncture
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time excellently
