The Haematology service is a new initiative, and this is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and passionate nurse to play a pivotal role in its development.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with expertise in Haematology to join our multidisciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of a new service, where you’ll provide comprehensive, high-quality care to patients with cancer and haematological conditions, guiding them through every stage of their diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert, compassionate nursing care to patients with haematological cancers, ensuring their clinical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • Act as a key advocate for patients, providing specialist advice, support, and education on treatment options, pathways, and potential outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with consultants, physicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure seamless care and treatment planning.
  • Offer emotional and educational support to patients and their families, empowering them to make informed decisions about their care.
  • Develop and lead patient care initiatives to improve the quality and continuity of service, contributing to the development of this new Haematology service.
  • Ensure best practice and evidence-based care are consistently delivered.
  • Participate in research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to further the service's development.

What you’ll bring:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  •  Proven experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Haematology, ideally with cancer care experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to support patients through complex care pathways
  • Be able to able to demonstrate an ability to work both autonomously and part of team
