We are thrilled to invite passionate General Practitioners with a strong interest in Health Tech to join us at HCA Healthcare during a pivotal phase of exceptional transformation. Be a part of a dynamic project team of over 200 professionals, contributing to a cutting-edge initiative for a minimum of 6 months. We welcome both part-time and full-time applicants!

  • Position: Urgent Care Subject Matter Expert (SME)
  • Location: 1 London Bridge, with expectations to visit other primary care sites and some remote work weekly.
  • Contract Type: Minimum Fixed Term - 6 months (maternity cover) may extend
  • Hours: Monday to Friday - 2 or 3 days per week
  • Salary: Benchmarked + benefits

We are investing significantly in a state-of-the-art Electronic Health Record (EHR) MEDITECH Expanse platform as part of our long-term digital initiative, aiming to enhance patient safety, quality, and care through advanced technology and web-based navigation.

As the Urgent Care Clinical Subject Matter Expert, you will play a crucial role in our EHR Programme, bringing your clinical expertise to ensure the programme accurately captures and responds to clinical and operational needs. You will translate current workflows into the digital arena, supporting the roll-out and transformation of HCA to new digital systems and technologies. Currently we are in the design, build and testing phase, and its your expert knowledge which will help shape the platform for our colleagues, end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist input to the HCA EHR Programme in partnership with EHR Consultant representatives.
  • Attend events and workflow testing, offering relevant expertise according to your role and care setting.
  • Input specialist knowledge regarding National standards and local policies and protocols.
  • Identify and document programme risks and clinical hazards associated with your clinical area.
  • Review and approve training materials to ensure clinical and operational stability during the change.
  • Undertake training and support go-lives as a super-user, training and supporting local EHR champions.
  • Focus on user needs, patient pathways, and patient safety throughout the transition from old to new systems and ways of working.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Registered General Practitioner, GMC Medical Professional with experience in NHS or UK Private healthcare.
  • Clinical experience working in Urgent Care Centres and GP Practices.
  • Experience with digital solutions in healthcare.
  • Experience in projects, mentoring, or training individuals through change.
  • Proficiency with EHR/EPR/EMA systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Outstanding analytical skills.
