We’re looking for an Employee Relations Business Partner to join our High Performing and well-respected HR team, based in London.  The team provides extensive professional support to our managers both in clinical and non-clinical roles.  Supporting our colleagues with a complex and diverse range of ER related matters, thus allowing them to focus on the delivery of an exceptional patient journey we are admired for globally.

As an Employee Relations Business Partner, your role is to be a trusted advisor supporting managers and colleagues across the HCA UK Division.

As an excellent coach, you’ll use these skills alongside your employee relations and HR expertise to deliver high quality, proactive case management and support for all employee relations matters. Examples include: capability, disciplinary, grievances, absence management, flexible working requests, appeals. 

The post holder will also have involvement in ACAS Early conciliation matters as well as Employment Tribunal preparation.

This post holder will be someone who is able to think strategically and apply into operational situations.  The ability to understand and balance policy and employment legislation within a high performing commercial environment is important.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver a high quality, pragmatic and professional ER advisory service to managers and colleagues.
  • Working alongside the HR Business Partners to ensure a consistent, customer focused and responsive One HR service.
  • Provide analytical and trend analysis of ER issues.
  • Be a lead for manager training on people related matters, for example, attendance.
  • Advocate on occupational health and wellbeing for colleagues.

What you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrative professional employee relations experience within a large, complex matrix organisation.
  • Able to demonstrate experience and understanding of UK Employment Law to advise and guide colleagues supporting problem solving in a pragmatic way.
  • Able to work at pace and to tight deadlines and changing priorities and work as part of a team.
  • Demonstrative analytical and problem-solving skills, able to identify improvements to ways of working and to HR policy and process.
  • The experience and ability to coach others, in this role you’ll be coaching line managers in people matters and helping them to manage them rather than doing the task for them.
  • Ideally CIPD qualified and / or a minimum of 5 years in employee relations.
