We’re looking for a Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT Clinical Specialist Technologist to join our Molecular Imaging at The Harley Street Clinic and Leaders of Oncology Care, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.

At The Harley Street Clinic and Leaders in Oncology Care, we provide a range of complex care services, specialising in oncology, cardiology and neuroscience. From open heart surgery to pioneering techniques to treat cancer, our clinicians work together to provide the best possible care and treatments for our patients. Our staff always go the extra mile in caring for our patients which can be demonstrated by our recent outstanding rating awarded by the CQC.

Our Molecular Imaging Department incorporates all aspects of oncological and non-oncological radioisotope imaging as well as radioisotope therapy. The department at The Harley Street Clinic has 1 PET/CT scanner and 1 SPECT/CT gamma-camera and offers diagnostic molecular imaging tests to both adult and paediatric patients. The LOC department has 1 PET/CT scanner and offers CT and PET/CT scans to adult patients only.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Nuclear Medicine & PET/CT Technologist to join our friendly and fast paced department. A degree of flexibility and adaptability to support the service needs will be expected.  You will play a very active role on the training of junior staff and help us drive our quality improvement programme. You will have a positive and a strong team player attitude. You will have solid past experience in diagnostics Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT. Previous experience in therapeutic Nuclear Medicine is desirable, but not essential. Previous senior-level experience is expected as well as the ability to work independently.

Principal duties

  • To skilfully perform a wide range of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT scans to both adults and paediatric patients

  • To assist the practitioner with the delivery of Nuclear Medicine therapy procedures

  • To skilfully perform radiopharmacy related tasks such preparation of doses to patients

  • To be knowledge in use of PACS, EHR and other key IT systems

  • To maintain a high standard of patient centred care through good clinical practice

  • To comply to all relevant radiation legislation, local health and safety, infection control and governance policies

  • To participate in departmental audit, image optimisation and training of new clinical staff

  • To be accountable for own professional actions and working within codes of practice and professional guidelines

  • To be able to adapt, create or implement protocol changes in line with service needs

  • To deputise for the Superintendent whenever required

  • To be flexible on working hours to meet the needs of the service and able to travel between sites

Skills & Experience

  • BSc Nuclear Medicine, Medical Imaging or similar

  • RTC registration

  • SOR recognised IV cannulation certificate (or equivalent)

  • Previous senior-level experience with comprehensive post qualification work experience Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT
