Location: The Portland Hospital for Women & Children
Full time: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Monday-Sunday (long days, nights & weekends)

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join the Paediatric Neuro-rehab & Complex Care team at the Portland Hospital. Currently rated “Good” by the CQC, the Portland Hospital is UK’s only private hospital dedicated to the healthcare needs of women and children.
As a Senior Staff Nurse working within our Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and Complex Care Inpatient Ward you’ll play a key role in the smooth operation of the department. We’ll look to you as an expert in your field to support and mentor the junior nurses, using your in-depth clinical knowledge to guide and support them while also stepping up and leading the unit the absence of the Sister/Charge nurse.
It’s a varied role. One day you could be implementing and evaluating holistic care plans for children in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team, the next participating in audits or quality improvement projects to continually improve the care we provide. What you’ll bring:
NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support
Experience working within Paediatric Neurorehabilitation and complex care needs
Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is essential
Experience with tracheostomised patients is desirable.
Understanding of Safeguarding issues
Teaching and mentoring experience
Excellent written and verbal communication
Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits
