We are looking for a Patient Access Officer to join our team at the Harborne Hospital on a bank basis, part of the World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.

About the facility:

The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery including robotics with the latest Da Vinci XI. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.

Location: The Harborne Hospital 

Contract Type: Full-Time Bank

Shifts between the hours of 6.30AM-8PM

Monday-Friday, occasional Saturday

Salary: £12.70 per hour

What you’ll do:

  • To provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to patients, consultants and other third parties in a high volume and pressurised environment

  • Work closely with clinical staff, revenue cycle teams and third-party sponsors to ensure timely and accurate patient registration and billing

  • Facilitate the customer’s experience by providing a 5* service to our internal and external stakeholders through a seamless patient journey with a high level of customer care at all times whilst handling a high volume of activity.

  • Be proactive in the day to day management of patient appointments and admissions to facilitate operational excellence.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is advantageous as we are looking for someone who demonstrates kindness and compassion and upmost confidentiality

  • The post holder must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in an efficient and methodical way

  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring communication and negotiation are at the heart of everything we do

  • The post holder will be a team player, eager to assist their co-workers and develop their skillset at every opportunity
