We’re looking for a Lead Pharmacy Technician (Procurement) to join our team at The Harley Street Clinic currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC.

Based in London’s medical district, our hospital is accessible and is considered an employer of choice.  Our pharmacy team delivers an exceptional patient-centred service across our world-renown campus that house several centres of excellence from Cardiac to Diagnostics to Complex Oncology.

This role would be a great development opportunity for someone with experience of procurement within a hospital setting. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who displays positivity and leadership, who can join us at this exciting time to drive the centralisation for procurement across our three sites (The Harley Street Clinic, Leaders of Oncology, and HCA at UCH). Therefore, the successful post holder will need to work collaboratively with the Lead Pharmacy Technicians for Patient Services, Clinical Pharmacy teams and wider HCA teams such as Supply Chain and other procurement teams.

 

As a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team the post holder will be responsible for the core pharmacy operations of procurement and stock control, as well as line managing a team of Procurement Technicians.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the Pharmacy Leadership Team, you will provide high quality, patient focused pharmacy services which consistently meet the needs of all service users.   

  • Within the role of Lead Pharmacy Technician for Procurement, you will be responsible for the core pharmacy operations of procurement and stock control. 

  • This will involve achieving and maintaining the centralisation of procurement for the HSC, LOC and UCH sites, as well as providing professional leadership and management to the procurement team.

  • You will be integral in providing training, education and mentorship to Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants. 

  • You will be involved in the continuous service and professional development, audit and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs). You will also be a key stakeholder for relevant Quality Improvement Project(s) (QIPs)

What you’ll bring:

  • BTEC / NVQ Level 3 qualification in Pharmaceutical Science / Pharmacy Service Skills (or equivalent) and registered with the GPHC 

  • Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) accreditation - desirable

  • Demonstrate extensive experience of working in a pharmacy setting as a registered pharmacy technician including dispensing, labelling, stock control, charging 

  • Experience providing education & training  

  • Experience supervising junior colleagues   

  • Experience of Omnicell® Automated Dispensing Cabinets (desirable)
