As the UK's leading private healthcare provider, we believe in empowering our team members, and we're offering you the chance to lead in a dynamic and rewarding environment, where your impact will be felt across our group.

Position: Head of Physical Security
Location: Predominantly London HCA sites, with occasional travel to other UK locations
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Competitive, with outstanding benefits, including private healthcare for you and your family, contributory pension, and a comprehensive suite of financial and wellbeing perks.

At HCA Healthcare UK, we put patients first. That means creating a secure, safe environment where our clinical teams and staff can deliver world-class care. We're looking for an experienced leader in physical security to spearhead our UK security operations, ensuring that all our patients, staff, facilities, and data are protected to the highest standards.

As a trusted name in healthcare, HCA Healthcare UK is known for its commitment to clinical excellence and cutting-edge patient care. When you join us, you’re not just advancing your career—you’re contributing to the future of healthcare by ensuring a safe, secure, and resilient environment for everyone who walks through our doors.

Your Role: As the Head of Physical Security, you’ll lead our comprehensive security strategy, working across all HCA UK facilities. This is more than just a leadership role—it’s a chance to shape the safety protocols that protect thousands of people each day. Reporting to the VP, Chief Security Officer for HCA Healthcare, and collaborating closely with UK leadership, you’ll develop security programs, manage risk assessments, and implement emergency preparedness plans that ensure our high standards are always met.

You will:

  • Lead a high-impact security program that integrates physical security technologies, life safety protocols, emergency response plans, and visitor management.
  • Drive collaboration with executive leaders, facility teams, and external partners to ensure smooth, secure operations across our UK sites.
  • Serve as the go-to expert on physical security, risk management, and compliance, maintaining the trust and safety of our staff, clinical teams, and patients.
  • Oversee budget, vendor relationships, and team training to ensure our security measures are robust, agile, and always evolving.

What you will bring:

  • A security professional with 10+ years of experience in security management, military, law enforcement, or information security.
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to develop and implement incident response plans, manage complex security operations, and lead teams.
  • A commitment to HCA’s core values of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • A skilled communicator capable of aligning security strategies with the goals of various stakeholders, ensuring patient and colleague safety is paramount.

Your contribution will help us continue to grow as an organisation that champions equality and belonging.

This is your chance to lead and innovate in a prestigious role that directly influences the safety and security of our patients and colleagues.
