  • Position: Neonates SPR - Resident Doctor  
  • Location: The Portland Hospital
  • Salary: £80000-£90000 depending on experience
  • Shifts: 12 hours days/nights/weekend mix rota
  • Contract: Full time or Part time, Minimum commitment 1 year

As a Resident Doctor you’ll cover our Neonatal department, acting on Consultant-Led decisions in partnership with highly specialist Nurses. With the advanced technology and our specialist team of consultant neonatologists and neonatal nurses you will monitor and care for babies born from 28 weeks onwards, who need a higher level of care. Day-to-clinical assessments, ward rounds or clerking admissions, reviewing discharges, assessing referrals and providing immediate medical care.

While we are a Consultant Led Service, we believe in empowering our Resident Doctors, so your role could become expand as much as you wish. You’ll have the chance to be involved in audits, projects and quality improvement initiatives alongside the opportunity to join a variety of internal networks. This could be to help steer the services you deliver, speaking up or patient satisfaction focus groups, clinical governance or MDT meetings. Giving you an opportunity to network with your peers, share best practice and expand your knowledge in an unrivalled setting. 

Suitable Doctors will need:

  • GMC Registration and License to Practice in the UK
  • Minimum 5-6 years specialist training in Paeds and Neonates.
  • Level 3 unit experience desired
  • A passion for team work, patient focused care with the ability to build and share best practice and offer a first-class patient experience
