Location: Princess Grace Hospital – ISEH (Institute of Sport and Exercise Health)
Contract Type: Full time at 37.5 hours per week

The Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH) aims to be a world leading institute for sports and exercise medicine. Reporting to the ISEH General Manager, and Physiotherapy Outpatient Lead the purpose of the MSK Physiotherapist is to deliver high standards of physiotherapy and rehabilitation to patients and working closely with our clinicians. We are looking for staff that are passionate about helping individuals make a difference to their sports, lives and health.

Band 7 MSK Physiotherapist provides high-quality care, leads clinical practice, and contributes to the ongoing development of the physiotherapy service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for complex MSK conditions.

  • Develop and implement advanced clinical management plans

  • Lead and oversee the clinical work of junior physiotherapists

  • Participate in or lead multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service improvements and clinical pathways within the MSK specialty.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of physiotherapy services, ensuring quality and efficiency.

  • Manage a caseload of patients, ensuring timely access to physiotherapy services and adherence to best practice guidelines.

  • Stay updated with the latest research and clinical guidelines, integrating them into practice and sharing knowledge with the team.

  • Participate in or lead clinical audits, research projects, and service evaluations

  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.

  • Advocate for patients, ensuring their voices are heard in care planning and decision-making processes.

  • Provide support and guidance for patients to help them achieve optimal recovery and maintain long-term health.

  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals, to ensure holistic patient care.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team, both verbally and in writing.

Education

  • BSc Physiotherapy

  • Working towards or have achieved an MSc in an MSK related area is desirable.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in MSK, sport medicine, orthopaedics and / or outpatient services. Experience in elite sport is desirable.
