We are looking for a Senior Labs Applications Analyst to join our ITG Enterprise Systems Department at HCA UK.

HCA Healthcare UK’s Information Technology Group (ITG) is a Group IT function, developing and managing all aspects of healthcare IT across our portfolio of hospitals, clinics, outpatient centres, laboratories, and other associated businesses. 

This role is within the Diagnostics and Oncology Systems team in ITG Enterprise Systems Department. As we look to increase service capabilities and project delivery in support of Labs application services this will be a key role in helping us achieve those aims.

At HCA we are implementing a real time end-to-end Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform, a multi-million-pound investment, and part of our long-term digital transformation initiative. The role holder will assist the Enterprise Systems Labs team and enable the integration and better communication between Labs and EHR.

What you'll do:

  • Delivering management, technical and administrative services to support and maintain live applications.

  • Manages application enhancements and supports projects to improve business performance or support business growth.

  • Advises on application security, licensing, upgrades, systems performance, backups, and disaster recovery needs.

  • Coordinating responses to incident reports, minimising negative impacts and restoring service as quickly as possible.

  • Develops, maintains, and tests incident management procedures.

  • Investigates escalated incidents, seeks resolution, and facilitates recovery. Ensures that resolved incidents are properly documented and closed.

  • Analyses causes of incidents, minimising probability of recurrence, and contributes to service improvement. Analyses metrics and reports on the performance of the incident management process.

  • Assessing risks associated with proposed changes and ensuring changes to products, services or systems are controlled and coordinated.

  • Investigating business situations to define recommendations for improvement action.

  • Applying the processes, systems and functions required to make new and changed services and features available for use.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in a clinical applications services and support or operations role.

  • Strong understanding and practice of LIMS

  • Experience in healthcare technology labs software and integration services and support.

  • Microsoft SQL Scripting and Querying

  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of healthcare laboratory technology
