Senior Staff Nurse – ITU

London, The Lister Hospital

Full Time 37.5hrs

Salary: Competitive + 9% Shift Enhancement

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Nurse to join our six-bedded Critical Care Unit at The Lister Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The Critical Care Unit provides High Dependency (level 2), Intensive Care (Level 3) and 24-hour patient outreach service to the clinical areas.

The CCU team cover a wide range of specialities, including Colorectal, Gynaecology, Thoracic, Vascular, Orthopaedics, Neuro & Spinal and Acute Medicine. As a Senior Staff Nurse in Critical Care Unit, we’ll look to you to provide clinical leadership and act as a mentor and role model to our junior members of staff. You will manage complex patient care (as bed-side nurse, NIC in CCU and Outreach nurse), and lead the six-bedded critical care unit in the absence of Manager and Sisters/Charge Nurses.

We’re big believers in growth, so when you join us we’ll support you to be at your best with a robust career pathway and opportunities for development such as stand-alone specialist modules, ALS courses (mandatory for all Senior Staff Nurses and Sisters/Charge Nurses), Leadership and Management Apprenticeships.

What you’ll bring:

  • Registered General Nurse with NMC pin.
  • Neuro, Cardiac or General ITU - specific skills and experience
  • Extensive experience working within Critical Care
  • Critical Care Course
