Role: Theatre Porter

Location: The Harborne Hospital
Shifts: Flexible shift patterns to suit you, between Monday and Sunday, 6:30am to 10pm

Hours: Full-time/ Part-time and Bank hours available
Salary: Up to £22,406 per annum + excellent benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits package plus career development)

We’re looking for a Theatre Porter to join our team based in The Harborne Hospital. Part of the World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.

As a Porter for theatres, you’ll provide a high class portering/security service to include delivery/collection of mail, medications and other items as requested. You'll appear professional and courteous at all times, whilst providing support to other departments within the unit.

What you’ll do:

  • Explanation of room facilities to patients

  • Assist patients with luggage and to escort them to their rooms

  • To relieve reception staff for breaks

  • Collection and franking of post

  • Parking of consultants cars

  • To check gauges and storage of gas bottles, changing them as necessary

  • Part of hospital fire and safety team

  • Part of the crash team

What you’ll bring:

  • Physically fit, able to lift heavy items when required

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential

  • A full UK driver’s license is essential

  • Good communication skills

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
