We are currently recruiting for a Clinical Lead within Dietetics to manage a cohesive dietetic department within The Christie Private Care, in Manchester. The service provides high quality clinical nutrition expertise to adult service users according to best evidence and clinical guidance. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would thrive on leading the development, provision and evaluation of the service, dietetic education and training and ensuring our clinical resources, operational policies and guidelines are operating to best-in-class standards.

Contract Type: This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week  

Salary range: This role offers a competitive salary dependent on experience 

Role Overview:

As the Clinical Lead for Dietetics, you will provide exceptional leadership, delivering this with expertise, energy, providing guidance and development opportunities, and supporting the to the team to make a difference. The post holder will work collaboratively to ensure the safe and effective implementation and management of the TCPC Dietetic service. 

 

The successful candidate will be driven and have a flexible approach to service delivery, developing an environment which is essential in assessing, managing and treating the nutritional problems that are associated with cancers.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Leads on all clinical aspects of the service

  • Manages the clinical team (permanent and bank)

  • Co-ordinates all aspects of the service; liaising with internal and external stakeholders and multi-disciplinary workers across the joint venture

  • Leads in the creation and implementation of departmental strategy and provides expert advice and support to all service users

  • Monitors and manages all required resource, planning and sourcing contingency as required

  • Aware of budget requirements and expectations. Liaises with all key stakeholders with regard to budget and finance

  • Identifies and undertakes CPD. Ensures the team are given ample time and opportunity to undertake CPD. Sources and disseminates CPD opportunities to the team and wider colleagues. Delivers training and CPD to colleagues and the wider MDT

  • Responsible for all quality management within the department including audits

  • Manages, leads and implements service provision to all affected patients, regardless of whether remaining as private or transferring to NHS.

  • Liaises with, includes and advises non-TCPC dietitians from the Trust and community. Recognises the need for training among a specific cohort of staff, devises and delivers training as appropriate

  • Responsible for workforce management within the service, including the creation and implementation of clinical induction for new staff members. Responsible for the arrangement and management of all attending students

  • Provides specialist, targeted & bespoke training to numerous colleague groups, both internal and external

Skills & Experience

·         Registered with the HCPC

·         Bachelor or Masters degree in Nutrition & Dietetics

·         Extensive clinical experience working within acute dietetic services

·         Extensive experience working in a specialist area

 

Desirable

·         Experience leading a team

·         Experience of workforce planning and skill mix review

·         Evidence of research in a specialist area

·         Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA)
