We are currently recruiting for an ITU Senior Staff Nurse at The Harborne Hospital. Part of the World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.
Location: The Harborne Hospital
Contract Type: Permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week
Shift Days: Monday – Sunday
Shift Patterns: Long Days, nights and weekends
Salary range: Competitive dependent on experience
About the facility:
The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in January 2024. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.
Role Overview:
As a senior staff nurse you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will be able to provide clinical leadership, act as a mentor and role model, manage complex patient care, and lead the six-bedded critical care unit in the absence of the Ward Manager. You will support individuals and teams to deliver safe, compassionate, high quality and effective patient care that is responsive to the needs of our patients and their families. Your specialist training should include a Critical Care postgraduate qualification and a minimum of ILS, ideally ALS and/or CALS. You will have extensive experience of managing level 2 and 3 patients, in particular for post Cardiac surgery or Intervention and must have evidence of Critical Care competencies at level 3. You will have experience being the Nurse in Charge of shifts, together with some supervision experience. It is essential to have clinical assessment skills and a physical examination course would be desirable.
Skills and experience:
Registered General Nurse with NMC pin.
Neuro, Cardiac or General ITU specific skills and experience – previous 3 years’ experience
Motivated and forward-thinking individual with excellent communication skills, good time management and prioritisation skills.

Critical Care Course (minimum 30 Credits)
