About the position:

The Chief HR Officer sits at a Senior Leadership level within the business and their primary role is to partner with the executive team to understand strategic priorities and interpret them into HR actions, alongside driving forward the wider HR strategy including engagement, organisational design and recruitment initiatives. This key role is the face of HR within a specific business area reporting to the divisional CEO, with a professional reporting line into the VP of Human Resources.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • To be a full member of the senior management team and contribute towards the strategic direction of the business across all aspects of management for your business area.

  • Involvement in the annual budgetary process and the production of strategic business and people plans

  • Support the senior management team and operational management team on all HR issues that impact upon the business.

  •  Develop a clear and robust local HR strategy, in line with the group HR strategy.

  • Contribute to policy and procedure development and review in response to organisational objectives, external pressures, standards of good practice and develop solutions to support competency development.

  •  Work with the Organisational Development team to provide career development opportunities to all employees within your business remit.

  •  Ensure local managers are provided with people training.  Ensure an effective local induction is in place, meeting any statutory and mandatory requirements.

  • Partner with the CEO and rest of the senior leadership team to review the facility organisation structure and recommend changes as appropriate.

  • Build employee engagement initiatives to aid employee retention

  • Support the senior leadership team in dealing with complex employee relations matters

Skills and experience:

  • Graduate level educated or equivalent experience CIPD qualified

  • Prior experience in working within a HR leadership position and managing a team

  • Experience within a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential

  • Experience in managing local recruitment strategies  and complex employee relation cases

  • Knowledge and understanding Knowledge of the principles, tools, techniques and developments in HR management  

  • Experience of working within a commercial and fast paced environment
