About the Role

The team at The Harley Street/LOC is currently recruiting for a Head of Pharmacy to lead in the transformation and management of the pharmacies across The Harley Street Clinic and the LOC.  The ideal candidate will lead and manage all operational and strategic aspects and development of the pharmaceutical services at 2 main locations (and 3 satellite locations), reporting directly to the Chief Nursing officer and to have professional accountability to the Directors of Pharmacy. As Head of Pharmacy you will develop and maintain safe and evidence-based medicines management practices which comply with appropriate regulatory bodies, including clinical, risk, quality and financial parameters. Where practice is found to be non-compliant, this is addressed through the relevant processes.

The Harley Street Clinic and the LOC are centres of excellence in areas such as cardiac, complex oncology, neuro just to name a few.  In this role you will be privileged to work alongside a team of specialist and expert pharmacists at varying of seniority.  

Skills & Experience:

  • Provision of a pharmacy service to cancer patients including cytotoxic reconstitution services
  • Significant experience in senior pharmacy operational and leadership role
  • Evidence of budget management
  • Principles and practice of risk
  • Involvement in clinical trials 
  • Member of professional supportive bodies e.g. UKCPA, BOPA
  • Visionary leader
  • Able to lead, inspire, innovate and performance manage service change in a complex organization
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to demonstrate fluency, clarity and effectiveness at all levels.
  • Ability to influence senior medical and hospital managerial staff.
  • Able to work across conventional boundaries where conflict is likely to plan service developments and manage the change process - change management experience
  • Ability to identify and prioritize pharmacy services, own workload, and that of others
