Medical Oncologist Clinical Trial Principle Investigator

We are activity recruiting for an experienced Oncology Doctor to support Sarah Cannon’s mission of improving patient outcomes and advancing medical science by providing outstanding medical care to all patients participating in Cancer clinical trials and research projects at the London DDU in collaboration with our academic partner University College London (UCL). 

Summary of Duties;

Providing medical input to clinical and translational development plans, including but not limited to; 

  • Taking part in planning, setting up, conducting and reporting clinical trials of new cancer treatments, including; 

  • Ensuring all clinical trials are conducted in accordance with the investigational plan, ICH GCP guidelines, and all applicable regulations. 

  • Ensuring all translational studies are conducted in accordance with the appropriate regulatory and institutional approval (including consent) and in line with ICH Good Laboratory Practice.  

  • Identification of potential patient populations of interest for clinical and translational projects 

  • Taking responsibility for the efficient recruitment of subjects in trials conducted by the DDU. 

  • To perform pre-study physical examinations, review laboratory data, ECGs and other medical information to ensure patients are medically and mentally fit to participate in relevant clinical trials. 

Successful Applicants will need

Speciality Trained Cancer/Oncology Doctor, Minimum Registrar Level.

Medical Degree; Full Registration and License to Practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)

MRCP or equivalent, higher degree (MD/PhD) desirable 

Previous experience working as a clinical trial investigator (including early phase clinical drug trials) and track record of laboratory techniques to support translational research studies, Experience in general oncology management including treatment of oncological emergencies and cancer chemotherapy. 

Advanced Life Support Certificate.
