We are currently recruiting for a Senior Oncology Clinical Pharmacist at The Harborne Hospital. Part of the World’s largest private healthcare group; providing award winning primary, acute and complex care.

Location: The Harborne Hospital 

Contract Type; Permanent, full time 37.5 hours

Salary range: Up to £51,967 dependent on experience

About the facility:

The Harborne Hospital - part of HCA Healthcare UK is a brand new £100million, purpose built 50 bed, multi-speciality private hospital opening in Birmingham in 2023. Located on the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham campus, the hospital will have the deep clinical infrastructure, equipment and facilities and expert, experienced teams to deliver full clinical pathways across a mix of specialties and sub-specialties at all levels of complexity including Cardiology, Cancer and Complex Surgery. The Harborne Hospital is the 4th NHS partnership within this network, partnering with University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust.

Role Overview:


HCA have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Oncology Pharmacist to join The Harborne Hospital. In this role, you will assist the Lead Pharmacist – Oncology/Haematology Services in delivering, managing and developing a proactive, high quality, cost effective, safe and responsive patient centric pharmacy service

You will participate in the daily running of all areas of the pharmacy department, including designated time in the aseptic unit, dispensary, outpatients, inpatients, clinical verification of SACT, e-Prescribing and protocols and clinical audit.

Skills and experience

  • MPharm or equivalent (essential)
  • Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) (essential)
  • Post graduate diploma/masters in clinical pharmacy or equivalent (essential) Experience in delivering a clinical pharmacy service to wards (essential)
  • Previous experience of working in Oncology (essential)
  • Practical experience in an Aseptic Production Unit & GMP (essential)
  • Previous experience of managing staff (desirable)
  • Mosaiq, BD Cato, Meditech knowledge (desirable)
