Job: Senior 1 Cardiac MRI Radiographer

Location: The Harley Street Clinic, London

Contract Type: Permanent, full time hours 37.5hrs  (with on-call & weekend requirements)

Salary Range: Competitive dependent on skills & experience. This position is equivalent to a band 6-7 NHS.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To assist the MRI Lead Radiographer in the day to day running of the MRI service, maintaining high standards at all times.

  • Control access of patients, staff and others to the MRI suite with particular reference to MRI safety as outlined in the Local Rules.

  • Perform complex unsupervised examinations.

  • Carry out cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to best practice standards of radiographic technique (MHRA Guidance 2015, IR(ME)R 2017, Code of Clinical Practice)

  • Provide high quality and timely MRI and other Radiographic examinations for users following protocols and guidance to enable best diagnosis and treatment.

  • Prioritise and assess workflow reacting to the needs and safety of patients at all times.

  • Experience with paediatric patients desirable but not necessary

  • Assess a referral or request form, and justify it under radiographic regulations and locally agreed protocols

Skills & Experience

  • HCPC registered

  • Minimum 1 year Cardiac MRI experience

  • Be competent at performing routine and basic cardiac MRI examinations

  • Be competent at performing stress perfusion cardiac MRI examinations

  • Understand the fundamentals of MRI physics and different scanning techniques and sequences
