Permanent Full-time (37.5 hours per week) – Shifts can be between:  6am – 2pm / 8am – 4pm / 10am – 6pm / 11am – 7pm / 12pm - 8pm / 1pm – 9pm

Salary - Starting From £19,000 depending on experience

About the Role

Receptionist is to provide a full range of administrative/receptionist duties for The Wilmslow Hospital in order to support the department/unit to deliver an excellent service to all our Patients and Visitors.  Receptionist ensures the smooth and efficient running of all outpatient clinics, day case and inpatient admissions.


  • Meet and greet patients, visitors, consultants and staff and deal with their enquiries efficiently and professionally
  • To receive telephone queries and communicate via e-mail, both internally and externally in an acceptable time frame
  • Maintain the ward diary and keep it up to date
  • Update and maintain knowledge of hospital services/facilities relevant to the unit
  • Ensure all outpatient clinic lists have been received timely and the diary is kept up to date
  • Admit and discharge patients on relevant systems
  • Add booking forms and pre admit unplanned admissions
  • To make bookings for consultant appointments and clinical investigations

Skills & Experience:

  • Good verbal and nonverbal communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising workload
  • Punctuality
