Oncology / Haematology Senior House Officer level.
Salary: starting salary £55000
42 hour contract per week
Rota pattern: X3 12hour shifts per week, a combination of days and nights. Please note these cover the private unit only.
An additional 6 hours will be paid for admin and personal development.

The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of medical care for all patients, attending both in- and outpatient settings and to continually strive to improve this through participation in governance activities including audit and mortality reviews.
You will work as an integral part of the experienced and established medical team reporting directly to the Oncology Consultants. The Consultant team spans medical and clinical oncology, surgery and haematology. The RMO team consists of 8 full time dedicated Doctors who are employed by HCA and are supported within the HCA management structure.
You will also work as an integral part of the ward MDT which includes nursing staff, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and pharmacists.
Your primary role is to attend to the day to day medical care of inpatients including clerking new planned and unplanned admissions, daily patient ward rounds, responding to medical emergencies and caring for end of life patients. The role also includes ad hoc medical cover to the outpatient chemotherapy day unit.
There are opportunities for educational development including in house oncology education and attending outpatient clinics within the admin time. You will also have direct access to the CPD accredited HCA Oncology teaching programme. Supported annual appraisal process.
Personal Specification
Essential;
GMC registration and MBCHB medical qualification
At least 6 months experience working in the NHS
Completion of Foundation training and ideally at least one further year of medical experience
ALS trained
Desirable;
Oncology/haematology experience
MRCP or equivalent

It is a joint venture and therefore supported by NHS clinical services such as the critical care unit, radiology and laboratory services.
