Contract Type – Permanent. Full time 37.5 hours per week

About the role

This is an exciting new role working alongside world class medical and clinical teams who put patient safety and patient experience at the forefront of everything they do ensuring we achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients. We use the most up to date electronic systems and  pleased to say we have gone green – we are paperless! We are looking for a highly motivated and positive individual to become a key member of our busy Pharmacy Team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive medicines management service.

In this role you will meet and assess patients for toxicities from their chemotherapy and recommend treatments to manage these and will  be responsible for meeting the goals of our medicines optimisation agenda.

You will also lead the way in the maintenance of a technician-led dispensary outpatient service in order to provide the highest standards of patient-focused care. You will work closely with the Lead Cancer Pharmacists and Lead Technician for e-prescribing in  the building of SACT protocols, management of the pharmacovigilance pathway, introduction of cutting edge and innovative treatments and service development.

Skills & Experience

  • NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services and a BTEC in Pharmaceutical science (or equivalent qualification and underpinning knowledge)
  • Experience in managing protocols in cancer care
  • Additional knowledge relating to information technology essential
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Accredited Checking Technician
