Location - The London Bridge Hospital, London

Contract Type - Permanent, full time hours 37.5hrs

Salary - Competitive (dependent on skills & experience). This position is equivalent to a Band 7 NHS.

Job Description

The Senior Specialist Orthopaedic Physiotherapist will be responsible for a full clinical caseload, whilst supporting the Clinical Lead Inpatient Physiotherapist and Inpatient Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Lead with service development initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To be responsible for a majority Orthopaedic and Trauma clinical caseload, both inpatients and day cases, providing high quality Physiotherapy care to patients across the London Bridge Hospital campus.

  • To be able to provide clinical support across other areas of the hospital, including Intensive care, general surgery, cardiorespiratory and oncology.

  • Use expert clinical reasoning to provide specialist intervention, support and advice to patients, ensuring best practice is applied at all times.

  • To provide comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments for each patient.

  • To maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise treatment records detailing the individual patient’s treatment plan and progress.

  • To ensure that physiotherapy sessions are commenced on time and patients are charged appropriately for their treatment.


Skills and experience

  • Appropriate training at MSc level or equivalent experiential development

  • Be HCPC Registered

  • CSP Member (Desirable)

  • Highly specialist experience in Orthopaedic, Trauma & Neurosurgical physiotherapy

  • Experience working within in-patient settings within an acute hospital

  • Experience working across other disciplines within physiotherapy e.g rotations
