About the position
As the Therapy Manager for Rehabilitation, you will ensure that a professional and high-quality interdisciplinary therapy and Psychology service is delivered to patients within the rehabilitation service, providing leadership and operational management for therapy staff across inpatients and outpatients and supporting with the implementation of the development and delivery of the departmental strategy.
Duties and responsibilities
Providing effective leadership for therapy and Psychology teams
Develops effective relationships with key stakeholders in the business, including the senior management team, employees, consultants, patients, the local community, health/local authorities, local healthcare facilities, general practitioners and suppliers.
Ensures that high quality specified services are provided to patients and consultants in a timely manner.
Co-ordinates the identification, review and management of therapies in line with changes in clinical practice, HCPC standards, needs of Regulatory Authorities, the Health and Social Care Act, insurance companies and Corporate and Local Policies and Procedures.
Upholds Health and Safety policies/guidelines and legislation in order to safeguard the well being of all those who enter the hospital premises.
Supports the departmental leads to work to budgets and targets and oversees this, identifying clinical capital budget requirements and priorities to deliver services.
Recruit, selects and appoints staff with regard to skill mix, budgeting, manpower and salary guidelines. Ensures company policies and procedures and employment legislation are adhered to.
Manage Clinical Governance, Quality and Risk and ensure that all therapies comply with all statutory, organisational, accreditation and insurance standards
Monitors standards of care ensuring it is delivered in line with Best Practice Guidelines produced by recognised health care bodies, e.g. NICE, NPSA. DOH.
Assist the Rehabilitation Centre Manager in identifying, developing and promoting new patient services and participate in planning department strategy and objectives.
Skills and experience
Relevant clinical and leadership experience within a neurorehabilitation setting
Ability to identify problems, make informed decisions and react swiftly to resolve complaints locally where appropriate.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills
Organisational skills and ability to prioritise and delegate workload effectively
Ability to work under pressure and manage conflict.
