Job - Resident Doctor - Medical Oncology
Contract Type - 2 year contract - full time or part time hours, with a range of flexible shifts. You can also join our bank, for extra shifts.
Salary - up to £70000 dependant upon experience
Location: Wellington Hospital, St Johns Wood London.
We are looking for a highly motivated experienced Registrar level doctor, with a passion for medical oncology, to join our private patients ward at The Wellington Hospital.
Duties and responsibilities
Our Resident Doctors ensure the highest standards of medical care for all patients, attending both in- and outpatient settings and to continually strive to improve this through participation in governance activities, including audit. Maintaining excellent patient satisfaction and support ground breaking patient cases.
You will work as an integral part of the experienced and established medical team. The Consultant team spans medical and clinical oncology, surgery and haematology and you will work directly under direction of consultants.
You will also be invited to ward MDTs which includes nursing staff, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and pharmacists, to discuss and learn about complex patient cases.
Your primary role is to attend to the day to day medical care of inpatients including clerking new planned and unplanned admissions, daily patient ward rounds, responding to medical needs, and emergencies and caring for end of life patients. The role also includes ad hoc medical cover to the outpatient chemotherapy day unit.
Skills and experience
Completion of Foundation training and ideally at least 2 further year of core medical training.
Oncology patient experience within in-patient settings
MRCP or equivalent
