Location - The Portland Hospital, London

Contract Type - Permanent, full time hours 37.5hrs

Salary - Competitive (dependent on skills & experience). This position is equivalent to a Band 7 NHS.

Job Description

As a Senior Paediatric Orthopaedic / Spinal Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for leading the Paediatric caseload for The Portland Spinal Service for inpatient and outpatients, alongside a varied orthopaedic caseload. You will have a full clinical caseload and work alongside other Paediatric Orthopaedic Physiotherapists, whilst supporting the Clinical Lead Physiotherapist and Head of Therapies with service development initiatives.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To be responsible for Spinal and Orthopaedic caseload from pre-assessment, inpatients and outpatients, providing high quality Physiotherapy care to patients across The Portland Hospital.

  • To be able to provide clinical support across other areas of the hospital, including PICU, cardio-thoracic surgery.

  • Use expert clinical reasoning to provide specialist intervention, support and advice to patients, ensuring best practice is applied at all times.

  • To maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise treatment records detailing the individual patient’s treatment plan and progress.

  • To ensure that physiotherapy sessions are commenced on time and patients are charged appropriately for their treatment.

  • To work flexibly to the needs of the service and to participate in the out of hours weekend and standby service as required.

Skills and experience

  • Be registered with the HCPC

  • Degree in Physiotherapy

  • Highly specialist experience in Paediatric Orthopaedic / Spinal / MSK physiotherapy

  • Experience working within in-patient and out-patient settings within an acute hospital

  • Experience working across other disciplines within physiotherapy e.g rotation
