Job - Senior Pharmacy Technician

Location – UCH Joint Ventures, London

Contract Type – Fixed Term Contract, 12 months

Part-time basis 22.5 hours per week

Salary Range - Competitive and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who displays positivity and leadership within a team to assist in the provision of a comprehensive pharmacy service which consistently meets the needs of all service uses.

The successful candidate will be confident, with clear communication and a real focus on providing outstanding customer service. They will be versatile and flexible, happy to work across various roles and tasks to ensure the smooth running of the department. They will also be able to adhere to processes and protocol and have the ability to prioritise workload in order to meet the department objectives.

The post-holder has day to day responsibility for various elements within the dispensary and a mentorship role to trainee technicians/pharmacy assistants

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Be a role model supporting your peers whilst actively promoting the role of pharmacy technicians
  • Together with senior technical team, ensure the smooth day to day running of dispensaries and ward technical services
  • Be accurate in your working with a good attention to detail and have good communication skills
  • Assist with supervision, training and development of pharmacy and other MDT staff
  • Participate in quality projects and service development
  • The role holder will work across both the inpatient and outpatient dispensaries at HCA at UCH dependent on service need

Skills & Experience

  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
  • Hospital Pharmacy Experience
  • ACT and/or MMT accreditation is desirable
  • Good spoken and written English.
  • Ability to work quickly, accurately and in an organised manner under pressure
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing demands
