Location - The London Bridge Hospital, London

Contract Type - Permanent, full time hours 37.5hrs

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated team player to join The London Bridge Hospital as a Senior Specialist OT.  You will be responsible for holding a full clinical caseload whilst also supporting the Clinical Specialist OT and team lead in the clinical development of the OT team and services.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To be responsible for a full caseload of patients across all specialities, covering mainly general surgery and medical caseloads, as well as Intensive care, orthopaedics and oncology, providing high quality Occupational Therapy care to patients across the London Bridge Hospital campus.

  • Use expert clinical reasoning to provide specialist intervention, support and advice to patients, ensuring best practice is applied at all times.

  • To provide comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments for each patient.

  • To maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise treatment records detailing the individual patient’s treatment plan and progress.

  • To be responsible for the safe and timely discharge of patients and to be able to communicate this effectively to other healthcare professionals and refer onwards as appropriate to community teams.

  • To work flexibly to the needs of the service and to participate in the out of hours weekend and standby service as required.

Skills and experience

  • BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)

  • Current registered member of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

  • Experience across a range of specialties

  • Experience working within in-patient settings within an acute hospital
