Working hours – 37.5 per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm (some flexibility required, including early mornings and evenings)

Salary - £27,000 - £39,300 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an MDT Lead to join the Oncology Service Line at HCA. The role of the Lead will be to support the growth and development of all the MDTs across HCA to ensure that we are aligned to National Standards and accessible to all consultants practising within HCA. The role will include ensuring site based Coordinators have the infrastructure, educational development and support necessary to manage MDT’s; will act as a point of escalation where concerns have been raised and be an integral part of the cancer department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the cancer MDT’s across HCA to ensure all consultants have access to appropriate MDT’s for patients
  • Assist with facilitation of cover across all HCA facilities,
  • Ensure facilities access the MDT for the specialism in a timely manner by influencing clinical staff to utilise all available MDT’s
  • Lead on assuring the application and adherence of HCA’s quality governance framework and HCA MDT policy standards
  • Lead quality improvement projects working alongside clinical staff to deliver improved outcomes
  • Facilitate effective communication across sites building trust and co-operation from the diverse workforce groups
  • Promote a positive learning environment where changes are established and embedded to improve patient safety, experience and outcomes
  • Lead on lessons learned taking appropriate action and response to mistakes or service failures and ensuring an open learning culture is fostered
  • Perform audit analysis to ensure all MDTs are performing, collating reports of audit findings, implement action plans and review
  • Foster trusting relationships with external stakeholders including consultants and Medical Secretaries
  • To ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with HCA MDT guidelines
  • Coordinate and manage the Genomics Review Board and Palliative Care MDTs.

Skills & Experience

  • Substantial experience working as an MDT Coordinator
  • Experience of audit
  • Understanding of Cancer management with regards to MDT
  • Experience of multi professional working
