Bureau nurses are permanent, contracted nurses that work across all of our facilities/hospitals, choosing the clinical specialties, hours and shifts that best suit them. Bureau nurses have an ‘annualised hours’ contract, with the benefits of a flexible working pattern.
Job Description
As a member of our Bureau oncology nursing team, you could be working in any one of our fantastic hospitals depending on where there is a need. Your key role will be to plan and deliver a first class service to our patients and potentially administering chemotherapy (if certified to do so). We make sure that the nurse to patient ratio is low in all of our facilities, which gives you the time to dedicate to the patients you are looking after.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan, implement and evaluate care to meet the needs of the patient and their families/carers
• Maintain high standards within the patient environment
• Supervise and direct junior staff, promoting a learning environment
• Fully document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner
• Early recognition of clinical problems and report or take appropriate action
• Undertake extended roles such as cannulation, venepuncture and phlebotomy

Skills and Experience
• RGN with valid NMC Pin
• Relevant post graduate experience within a UK hospital setting
• Phlebotomy, cannulation, CVAD access and chemotherapy experience
• Previous haematology/oncology experience
• Previous exposure to palliative care would be advantageous
• Chemotherapy administration certificate would be desirable
