London Bridge Hospital expanded in 2017 into the top four floors of the new Guy’s Cancer Centre. With 38.2 million pound investment and 60,000 square feet this purpose built facility will allow London Bridge Hospital to house its cancer services in one roof. Consultants from London’s top teaching hospitals will offer full surgical provision in urology, gynaecology, breast, ENT, maxillofacial and head and neck, as well as reconstructive surgery for these specialties. The hospital will partner with Leaders in Oncology (LOC) across chemotherapy, outpatient oncology and haematology.
The new site encompasses inpatient and daycase beds, operating theatres including the first integrated robotics theatre in the UK, housing a Da Vinci Robot. There is also a chemotherapy unit, outpatient consulting, Level 3 Critical Care and Imaging including X-Ray, MRI and Ultrasound.
The London Bridge Hospital campus in South East London encompasses the recently opened outpatients and diagnostic centre in The Shard, the large world-class hospital based at the Tooley Street site, and a further five outpatient and diagnostic centres across the City, Canary Wharf and Kent. Patients benefit from multidisciplinary streamlined care, investment in leading-edge technology and London teaching hospital consultants.
The Outpatient Business Office team is looking to recruit for its expanding department, which provides support services across several buildings in London Bridge, Shard, Guys, the City of London (Tower Hill), Old Broad Street, Docklands and Sevenoaks.
As a Business Office Assistant, you will provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to patients, consultants and other third parties that will assist in promoting the successful management of all aspects needed to facilitate a seamless and positive patient journey.
This is a full time role working 37.5hrs per week (Shifts covering from 7.30am – 8pm Monday – Friday with the potential for Saturday shifts. You will also be expected to work in all areas of the department on a rotation basis, including our satellite sites)
The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £20,140 - £24,662 and will bedependent upon skills and experience.

- Responsible for ensuring that all patients meet the HCA criteria to enable successful and full financial settlement relating to all patient visits
- Formally pre-register and register all patients and guarantee 100% accuracy when requesting and transferring information to HCA database
- Manage and maintain the patients record for the duration of their visit
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Respond promptly and appropriately to all telephone, written and face to face queries
- Manage cash transactions and the provision of appropriate receipts
- Ensure all financial transactions are properly reconciled on a daily basis
- Manage reception and facilitate the smooth running of clinics
- Facilitate and book appointments during clinics
To be considered for this role, you will previous experience gained within a similar position. You will have excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office suite, with a good level of education.
