Located at The Portland Hospital, our Urgent Care Centre for Children is for a broad range of non-life-threatening medical needs. Treating children under the age of 18, with no appointment required. Open from 8am until 8pm 7 days per week, this is the first private specialist Urgent Care Centre for Children in the UK, providing children with rapid access to leading paediatricians, urgent care doctors and specialist nurses.

 

Job Description

 

The Urgent Care Doctor role provides clinical assessment and diagnosis to a wide range of patient’s presenting with minor injuries and illnesses including aches and pains, allergic reactions, back pain, bladder problems, ear, nose and throat conditions, falls, fractures, sprains, strains and sports injuries, fever, infections and rashes, minor eye conditions, respiratory and chest complaints, stomach and bowel problems and wounds, cuts and grazes.

Currently 8 out of 10 attendees do not require admission, it is your role as a Paediatric Urgent Care Doctor to ensure all children and their families are greeted friendly and promptly, you conduct a thorough, safe and efficient assessment and provide professional onward treatment or admission as required. 


As part of your role you will be required to take bloods, ECGs and interpret X rays, full training will be provided on this. 

  • Shifts can be earlies or lates, weekdays and some weekends. 
  • Full Time and Part Time Shifts available, 24 hours or 40 hours per week
  • Salary £95000 per annum of full time hours (40) in addition to this you will receive 10% out of hours supplement and an additional 10% bonus based on performance KPIs .

Skills and Experience

For this role you will need;

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • GMC registration 
  • Extensive experience within Paediatrics
  • Post graduate experience preferably to include Accident + Emergency or Urgent Care.
  • Team player able to build relationships and support colleagues. 
  • Excellent communication and IT skills

Training will be provided to take bloods, ECGs and interpret X rays.
